Game Farm: Bettws Hall

In a new blog series we speak to BGA registered Game Farms to see why they signed up.

What does it mean to be one of the first adopters of the BGA Game Farm Assurance Scheme?

After many discussions with BGA we are delighted to be part of the Game Farm Assurance Scheme. It is key for our sector and to keep moving with the times and setting the standards in Game Farm welfare. We think of it as a ‘Red Tractor’ for the game farming world.

Why do you think it is important that Game Farms sign up to the BGA?

It is important so that we are all on a level playing field, all operating to the highest standards. Quality assurance is key and also it would be easier to keep a track of how many game birds are bred in the UK. It is time to raise the bar and it is time to raise standards across the sector.

Why should we encourage shoots to only buy from BGA registered Game Farms?

By buying from BGA registered Game Farms you are buying from a professionally audited breeding site, putting your mind at rest that your birds have been reared to a high welfare standard with a professional company.
